For the past 15 years, Walkley Fields has cultivated a legacy steeped in a passion for breeding and showcasing alpacas. Nestled in the picturesque lush landscape of Meadow Flat, our strategy has been guided by a focus on producing commercial animals and fleeces.
Unfortunately, as the demands of my time commitments in the UK have grown, we find ourselves at a crossroads where we must bid farewell to the Walkley Fields Stud after 15 enjoyable years. Regrettably, shows and breeding have become difficult to juggle, leading us to the hard decision to disperse the herd.
There are no reserve prices, emphasising our prime objective to find homes for our premier breeding animals and their genetics. We have made the decision to include all the alpacas, young and old (13 years and younger the cut-off). They are all healthy, well nourished animals and we felt that they could all be options for breeders.
Over the years we have made treasured friends with like-minded alpaca breeders, all with the commitment and passion to move the Alpaca fibre industry forward in Australia. Although we have made the decision to close down the stud, we will certainly be barracking and supporting the industry from the side-lines and will watch with interest the evolution of the Walkley Field genetics.
Thanks to everyone who has helped us on this incredible journey.
